Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will today flag-off 50 new fire tenders from Nabanna, which will serve under different fire stations across the State. The State Fire Services & Emergency Services Minister will be present on the occasion along with other Government officials. Of the 50 fire tenders, 20 are of 5000 lt capacity are equipped with low pressure pumps, cutting and lifting equipment. The rest 30 fire tenders are of 2500 lt capacity and can move in to narrow lanes and hilly areas with ease. All these are also equipped with modern water mist technology. The State now has more than 650 fire tenders which are operational. Priority has been given on modernization of Fire and emergency service with a modern control room in the State HQ as well as in the divisional HQ with all facilities of modern communication system, recording, analyzing, dispatching, GPS system in Fire Tenders and finding out their locations etc. Fire stations have been provided with mobile sets and walki talkies. The new equipment and machinery that has been added to the fleet are High and Low Pressure Water Tenders, Mid size water tenders, Emergency Tenders, operational vehicles, motorcycles, two Hydraulic Platform one 54 meter and another 42 meter for fire fighting and rescue in High Rise  buildings, Hydraulics Rescue Tools, circular Saw, Chain Saw, Diamond saw (Cutting and breaking tools), Compressor machine for BA sets, various types of search and rescue equipment, Towing vehicles, various types of station level equipment like lock cutters, face masks, suction hoses, foam making branches, Insulated axe, Insulated pliers, Search lights, dividing breaching, hose control clamps, short branch, different types of extinguishers etc.
